Immigrate to Canada

The decision to immigrate to Canada may be overwhelming. It is probably one of the most important decisions in your life and it should not be taken lightly. Canada welcomes hundreds of thousands of newcomers each year and is building vibrant, dynamic and inclusive communities.

Canada has more than 60 federal and provincial immigration programs. Your first step is to book an appointment with us to find out if you are eligible for any of them. If you do not qualify for a program yet, we can explore the best path on how to become eligible.

Canada is constantly updating their policies and programs to attract talented people in skilled and semi-skilled professions that help to keep building a strong economy.

The federal government oversees the immigration matters in Canada but also the provinces and territories have their own local programs that are used to respond to their labour needs.

The following are the most popular programs where Canada Platform is happy to assist you.

Federal Programs

Economic Programs

Canada modifies their immigration targets constantly to respond adequately to their labour market demands and needs. The immigration plans in Canada includes an emphasis in attracting foreign nationals through its Economic Programs.

Currently there are three federal categories or classes in the Economic Class.

  • Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC)

  • Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Express Entry

Since 2015, Canada uses the Express Entry system to rank candidates that express interest to immigrate to Canada under any of the three economic classes.

  • Step 1: you must create your profile online.

The profile must include your skills, background, work experience, education credentials and language proficiency among other information. If you meet the criteria of one of the federal economic programs, you receive a score using a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and enter into a pool of candidates.

Be aware that one of the most important aspects in immigration matters is consistency and credibility. Any issue with these two factors may lead to misrepresentation. It is extremely important to submit your profile, understanding each concept and question requested to avoid any future denial during your application for permanent residency.

  • Step 2: receive an Invitation To Apply (ITA)

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada periodically send invitations to apply for permanent residency to candidates with the highest scores in the pool.

An exhaustive diagnosis of the candidate may discover opportunities to increase his/her score.

  • Step 3: apply for permanent residence online

If you are invited to apply, you need to submit your complete application within 60 days.

Consistency with your Entry Express profile and previous immigration applications are one of the most important aspects to consider when applying. At Canada Platform we can assist you with your entire application, thus increasing your chances to succeed.

Family Reunification

One of the highest priorities for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is family reunification. It includes spousal and qualifying family member sponsorship. There are a vast number of requirements and exemptions that apply to these categories.

Important aspects related to your family member sponsorship application include but are not limited to: the country of origin of the applicant, the country of residency of the applicant prior to arrival in Canada and income requirements.

At Canada Platform we can assist you with your applications in:

  • Spousal or common-law partner sponsorship in Canada or outside Canada

  • Other family member sponsorship

Caregiver Pilots

On June 18, 2019 the new Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilots were launched changing the requirements to apply and the conditions that need to be met in order to pursue temporarily work and permanent residency in Canada.

At Canada Platform, we currently do not offer employment matching services. If you are a candidate for this program, you still need to find an employer by yourself. However, knowing if you fulfill the requirements may help you with your search. If you have experience in the field and want to know if you are a suitable candidate for this program, or if you are an employer in need of a foreign worker in this field we can assist you.

Other Programs

There are more federal programs and pilots where Canada Platform can assist you.

If you do not see the program that you are interested in, please contact us. We can arrange a consultation appointment to discuss the opportunities you have under other federal programs and assist you with your application.

Provincial Programs

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)

The Provincial Nominee Programs are an excellent option for skilled, semi-skilled workers and entrepreneurs that want to immigrate to specific provinces within Canada. Each Province handles their own programs and pilots to attract or retain foreign nationals, temporary foreign workers and/or international students that meet their local market needs.

All provinces have different categories to directly nominate or select foreign nationals that meet the requirements of their local market needs. You must apply directly to the province to get your nomination certificate.

Within the variety of options, you can select the categories linked to Express Entry or categories that are independent to this system. If you decide to go for the Express Entry categories, you will drastically increase your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and will enhance your chances to get an Invitation To Apply (ITA).

Currently at Canada Platform we do not assist with applications to Saskatchewan and Quebec.

Additional Programs

Federal and Provincial authorities launch different programs to facilitate the immigration of foreign nationals to different communities throughout Canada.

An example of this is the Atlantic Program, which was a pilot for several years, but it is now a stapple for the following 4 provinces: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador. The program helps employers hire qualified candidates for jobs they haven’t been able to fill locally.

Another example is The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot which has endured different changes throughout the recent years but it is a good option for people that want to live in smaller communities.

At Canada Platform we explain you the requirements of these additional options as soon as you find an employer willing to support you through these programs.
