Canadian Citizenship Consultation Services

Obtaining Canadian citizenship is the final step in many immigration journeys. It can also be the first step for those who can become Canadians by descent. The citizenship process is regulated by the Citizenship Act and applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements before applying.

⚠️  Important to Know

Citizenship requirements and regulations may change over time

Applications should follow the most updated regulations and requirements

Background, immigration history, and personal circumstances may affect the outcome of an application

Eligibility requirements should be carefully reviewed before submitting an application

As of December 2025, Bill C-3 expanded citizenship by descent beyond the first generation, allowing Canadian parents born abroad to pass on citizenship to their children if they meet a 1,095-day substantial connection requirement to Canada.
