What You Need To Visit Canada

Canada has plenty of options to offer for tourists. From outstanding National Parks, mountains, landscapes, beaches to the option to visit modern or old cities, Canada is a destination that can be enjoyed during winter, spring, summer or autumn. If you wish to visit Canada, you will more than likely need authorization prior to your arrival. Depending on your nationality, you may need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) or a Visitor Visa. Only a few exceptions apply to this rule.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

If travelling to Canada by air, an entry requirement, called an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is needed for visa-exempt foreign nationals.

The application must be filed directly to the official website of Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The cost is CAD $7 and is a straight-forward application unless you have specific situations that needs to be handled carefully such as previous criminality offenses or previous entry denials in Canada or any other country. If you have reasons to believe you may be denied, it is better to receive assistance by authorized representatives.

Be aware that one of the most important aspects in immigration matters is consistency and credibility. Any issue with these two key factors may lead to misrepresentation

You should avoid unauthorized third party companies that offer you this service. If you are getting a tourist package with a Travel Agency, we still recommend you to file your own application, with this, you will have complete control of your application. We also recommend that you record all the information provided when applying for future references.

If you need or require assistance in this matter, we are happy to help you.

Canadian Visitor Visas

To obtain a Visitor Visa, Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) evaluate certain factors before approving your visit. Background, ties to your home country and financial means are among the factors that are scrutinized by immigration officers.

Since 2018, the Canadian government expanded the requirement of biometrics for those applying for temporary visas. Only a few exceptions apply to this rule. Depending on which country you have resided within the year prior to visiting Canada you may need to undergo a medical examination as well.

At Canada Platform we evaluate your unique situation to increase your chances of success.

Business Visitors

Are you visiting Canada for business purposes? Be aware that you need to meet certain criteria and comply with certain conditions during your stay in Canada. Business people and business visitors are not the same. Depending on your nationality you may need an eTA or a Visitor Visa.

Additionally, you may be required to show specific documentation on your entry to prove you are not entering into the Canadian labour market. You may also need a medical exam and/or biometrics.

If you need assistance in order to avoid any delay or denial in your entrance, we are happy to assist you.
