Studying In Canada & Student Visas

Canada has one of the best education systems in the world.  It provides a multicultural experience for those seeking to study abroad.

One of the most important benefits of studying in Canada is the chance to work while holding a valid study permit; this benefit may be extended to your common-law partner or spouse. You need to pay special attention as not all the programs qualify for these benefits. Only programs in post-secondary schools that are Designated Learning Institution (DLI) are eligible. Full time students in approved programs are allowed to work up to 20 hours during each school calendar year and full time during regularly scheduled study breaks.

The option to get a Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) and gain work experience in Canada has been one of the most reliable ways to immigrate to Canada. Dual intent is accepted by immigration law in Canada as long as you comply with the requirements and conditions of all your temporary stays during your journey to become a permanent resident.

Important aspects related to your study permit application are: the country of origin of the applicant, the country of residency of the applicant prior to arrival in Canada, type of program, length of the program, ties to your country of origin, financial means, among others.

If you are not intending to immigrate to Canada afterwards but rather to obtain international experience in one of the best places in the world, Canada is still your best option.

Canadian Study Permits

Even if your plan is to study in Canada temporarily and go back to your home country afterwards, you will most likely need a Study Permit.

Everyone planning to come to Canada and study for more than 180 days (6 months) is required to hold a valid study permit and/or a student visa before arriving in Canada. There are a few exceptions to this rule.

There are also different types of study permits which differ depending on what kind of program you are taking.

We can assist you with your application.
